In many industrial applications, the right form of heating is very important, because this brings more benefits than just a comfortable temperature. When the heating that is deployed does not suit the application, this can have adverse consequences. Processes can be stagnated, damage can be caused to installations and operations in some applications are heavily influenced by the correct heating. How we deploy the right industrial heating in various applications, we at Dugoshop are happy to explain to you!

What does industrial heating involve?

The principle is of course the same, namely the application in which the heating is used to heat or maintain a certain temperature. Yet industrial heating different from commercial heating. This is mainly due to the form of heating and how they are produced. You can also use industrial heating more frequently on specific points within an installation or process, such as a pipe, a tank or a buffer vessel.

When a specific space within a facility or warehouse needs to be heated, users often opt for industrial space heating. These compact heaters can be placed virtually anywhere and are capable of delivering a high output. Depending on the space and the application, the output is determined. Any output level is possible, and these heaters can even be made to measure.

With these industrial heaters, the heat is distributed evenly by means of convection. Thanks to the robust casing with an IP54 safety rating (with thermostat) or IP65 (without thermostat), this heater can be deployed in many challenging applications. Think of lift shafts, ships and pump rooms.

With the thermostat located on the industrial heater located, you can set the temperature yourself. The thermostat has 4 settings, each representing 5 degrees Celsius. If the heater needs to be placed in a room where the thermostat cannot be easily operated, an external control can also be chosen. In that case, the industrial heater is supplied without a thermostat, and the temperature can be controlled from the external control. Multiple heaters can also be connected to this.

When a tank, buffer vessel or other application containing water or another liquid needs to be heated, an immersion heater is often chosen. These heating elements can directly heat the medium or keep it at a specific temperature. An immersion heater consists of three parts: the heating element, the screw-in gland and the connection housing. The design of this heater is very compact; the heating element is secured in the screw-in gland by means of brazing or welding.

Do you have a pipe, tube or another application that needs direct heat? Then a trace heating cable is often used. These cables bring the heat directly to the surface on which they are placed. There is a trace heating cable available for every surface and application.

Trace heating cables are often available in two versions: self-regulating and constant wattage. A self-regulating trace heating cable adjusts its output according to the ambient temperature. The major advantage of this cable is that it never gets too hot and can be crossed over. No controller is required for these cables either. Self-regulating cables are frequently installed in gutters, water pipes and many outdoor applications.

Constant power cable tracing deliver a constant power output along their entire length. This means that the application therefore also receives the same heat along the entire length. Because these cables can get too hot, a controller is always supplied with them. Constant wattage trace heating cables are often used in process applications. For example, on pipes where the medium always needs to be around a certain temperature.
