Product description
The charge current distributor allows you to use two batteries without the risk of the engine not wanting to start. This clever little device prevents ‘draining’ the starter battery.
While driving, the alternator generates charge current for the starter battery. When that is full, charging current automatically becomes available for the second battery, for lighting or other use.
Applications
For 12-volt battery only
Both batteries must operate at the same voltage, which is 12 volts. A difference in capacity (Ah) is not a problem, provided each battery does not exceed 500 Ah.
During normal operation, the two batteries operate in parallel and the LED lights green. If the voltage falls below 12.8 V, the charge current distributor disconnects the starter battery.
Simple cabling
You connect the charge current distributor between the two + terminals of the batteries, with a third wire to ground.
You do not need to change anything to the existing wiring of the vehicle. A Dutch-language manual is included.
Combination with solar panels
The charge current distributor is useful for camper, boat, car, truck, tractor, bus, commercial vehicle and other vehicles with two batteries.
You can connect a solar panel charge controller to the second battery at the same time. This is because there is no mutual interference with the charge current distributor.
