Product description
A high-power heating cable for protecting water pipes against freezing. This cable delivers a constant output of 25 watts per metre along its entire length and has been developed for situations where a higher heat output is required. Think of outdoor pipes, larger pipe diameters or installations exposed to prolonged and severe frost.
The cable is constructed from high-quality insulation materials and features a protective earthing sheath, guaranteeing safe and reliable operation. Thanks to its flexible construction, the cable is easy to install along pipes.
Heating cable with clixon (internal thermostat)
This cable is available in two versions. The standard version heats continuously when powered. The version with an integrated clixon (temperature limiter) switches on automatically when the pipe temperature drops to approximately 3°C and switches off again around 12°C. As a result, it only heats when necessary, which reduces energy consumption. Therefore, no external control is required with this heating cable. When the ambient temperature reaches the switch-on temperature, the cable delivers its full output. This means that the cable must not cross itself, otherwise the cable may become too hot.
Heating cable without clixon
The heating cable without clixon is actually a standard constant wattage heating cable. This delivers the full 25W/m along its entire length. Therefore, a controller is required for this cable. We always recommend this to ensure that the cable and the application do not become too hot. Suitable controllers for this cable can be found at the bottom of the product page!
Tip! This cable can be installed inside a conduit. Both versions of these cables are waterproof. Do you want to install the cable in a conduit? Then choose the cable without a clixon, with an external control. This is because the clixon measures the ambient temperature, and when it is placed in a conduit this can lead to false temperature readings.
Product application
The 25 W/m version is designed for applications where additional heating capacity is required. The cable is widely used for protecting drinking water pipes, process pipes and technical installations against frost damage.
Due to its high heat output, this cable is suitable for piping in unheated rooms, outdoor installations, agricultural applications, commercial buildings and industrial environments. The 25 W/m version also offers a reliable solution for pipes that are sensitive to heat loss caused by wind, low ambient temperatures or limited insulation.
By using the cable in combination with suitable pipe insulation, the water supply remains guaranteed and the risk of freezing, pipe bursting and costly repairs is significantly reduced.
