Product description
With underfloor heating cable, you realise comfortable underfloor heating in bathroom, toilet, kitchen, living room, conservatory or other room. (NB: this cable is not handy in tile adhesive; an underfloor heating mat is better suited for that)
The heating cable is installed on a subfloor of concrete, or in the screed on top of it. The finished floor can then be tiled - or fitted with any other type of flooring, including wood.
Applications
Underfloor heating where you want it
This flexible underfloor heating cable is ideal for rooms with irregular shapes, e.g. bathrooms. This is because you can very easily determine yourself where the floor should be heated.
Determine the heat output yourself
This heating cable is laid in the form of loops, spaced 10 to 20 cm apart. For additional heat output per square metre, reduce the cable spacing between them.
100 Watt / m² > laying distance = 20.0 cm
125 Watt / m² > laying distance = 16.0 cm
150 W / m² > laying distance = 13.3 cm
175 Watt / m² > laying distance = 11.4 cm
200 Watt / m² > laying distance = 10.0 cm
For bathroom and kitchen, 125 to 150 W/m² is common.
An energy-efficient house has enough with 75 watts per m².
In a conservatory or garage, you can go up to an output of 200 W/m².
How do I mount underfloor heating cable?
Basically, there are two options for installing this heating cable:
- Secure floor heating cable to the rebar with ty-reps or wire and then fully embed into the concrete floor.
- Fix underfloor heating cable on existing subfloor with glue or fixing strip, then apply the cement/mortar of the screed.
The heating cable must be embedded in its entirety in a ‘stony floor mass’ at least 5 cm thick. This includes any tiles or flagstones on the screed. This way, there is optimum temperature distribution.
Regulating with thermostat
You can combine several cables to the desired heated floor area. It is also possible to connect several cables to one (clock) thermostat.
This heating cable has one ‘cold’ connection end, which you connect to the mains via a thermostat.
