You can turn off the audible alarm (optical alarm only), or select one of 38 different alarm tones using the “sound” push button on the back of the motion detector.
Transit detector with adjustable sensor eye
The IR sensor is located in a compact plastic housing. You can place it loose or mount it (out of reach) against the ceiling or wall. May hang horizontally or vertically. The sensor eye is adjustable to a narrow or wide beam to prevent false alarms. Its range (detection distance) is 3-7 metres. Keep in mind that the infrared sensor can also react to (house) animals, objects moving/moving in the wind and direct incident sunlight. The sensor unit (transmitter) may be placed outside under a roof or canopy. When protected from precipitation, you can even use it as a driveway alarm. Tip: install in imitation nest box with the sensor eye placed behind the hole.
Transit detector with coded signal
The wireless radio link is encrypted and setup is automatic. Therefore, this passage detector cannot be connected to other alarm systems. On the other hand, you can (re)install the standalone passage detector very easily and do not need an installer. In the free field, the maximum distance between sensor (transmitter) and detector (receiver) is 70 metres. In practice, i.e. in a building, you should assume approx. 40 metres.
