Product description
Propylene-glycol-water mixtures are commonly used as heat transfer fluids. An antifreeze concentration of about 40% glycol in the mixture prevents damage to the system. even at temperatures of -21 °C, the system remains usable. temperatures below this protection point cause the formation of ice pulp, which, however, is unable to destroy pipes and lines.
Important note on the use of heat transfer fluids:
Use only heat transfer fluids suitable for the system in which they are used. All system components in contact with fluids must be glycol-resistant. Concentrations greater than 50% glycol should be avoided to achieve optimum efficiency.
Applications
However, today's high-quality flat collectors and direct-flow vacuum tube collectors can lead to premature degradation of the conventional heat transfer fluid at high stagnation temperatures. To prevent this process, the operating pressure of the system can be limited to 4 bar or a heat transfer fluid resistant to high temperatures can be used.
Specifications
Tyfocor LS:
Tyfocor LS - Ready-to-use, reversibly vaporizable special heat transfer fluid based on 1,2-propylene glycol, for use in solar thermal systems. Tyfocor LS is a clear, red-fluorescent liquid with a faint odor, based on physiologically impeccable propylene glycol and water. It is specifically designed for liquid use in solar heating equipment under elevated thermal conditions (vacuum tube collectors).
The corrosion inhibitors in Tyfocor LS reliably protect the metals commonly used in solar equipment from corrosion, aging and deposits over long periods of time. Tyfocor LS prevents the surfaces of heat exchangers from fouling and ensures consistently high thermal efficiency. To maintain its specific properties, Tyfocor LS should not be mixed with other heat transfer fluids and should never be diluted with water.
If leaks or other losses occur, the heat transfer fluid in the system should only be replenished with Tyfocor LS!
